Research topics

Explore the questions behind the services.

These guides explain the evidence, decisions and limits behind four common research themes.

Defensive starting point

Review what your own public profile may reveal.

A tightly scoped scan of your company website, official public channels and selected visual material. It separates direct observations from cautious inferences and gives practical publication priorities.

View the Scan Scope

Public Profile Exposure Scan

fixed fee €499 excl. VAT

A compact defensive review of what an outside observer may infer from your company-owned public presence.

Best for: Your own company's public communications.

  • One company website and up to two official public channels
  • Direct observations, cautious inferences and unknowns
  • Prioritised recommendations for future publications

Outside this scope: No private accounts, penetration testing or external competitor assessment.

Scope, fixed fee and delivery date are agreed before work begins.

Indicative engagement levels

Scope follows the decision.

Unlike the €499 scan of your own public presence, the assessments below address external intelligence questions. All listed fees exclude VAT; applicable VAT is added to the agreed project fee. These are indicative starting fees, not order prices or quotations. A defined assignment, deliverables, fixed fee and delivery date are proposed after scope review.

Focused Intelligence Assessment

from €995 excl. VAT

A focused assessment of a defined decision and its most material uncertainties.

Best for: One defined external intelligence question.

  • Agreed question and evidence boundary
  • Source-backed findings and limitations
  • Concise decision-oriented deliverable

Outside this scope: Not a review of your own public profile or a broad competitor landscape.

Scope, fixed fee and delivery date are agreed before work begins.

Strategic Intelligence Engagement

from €3,995 excl. VAT

A broader, decision-led engagement across several evidence streams.

Best for: A strategic decision with several related questions.

  • Agreed research workstreams
  • Executive conclusions and detailed findings
  • Evidence trail and strategic implications

Outside this scope: Workstreams and exclusions are agreed in writing; ongoing monitoring is separate unless scoped.

Scope, fixed fee and delivery date are agreed before work begins.

Complex, international or urgent assignments are quoted individually after scoping. A smaller paid pilot may be proposed when appropriate.

Delivery options

Timing shaped by the evidence.

Tell us when the decision is needed. We assess the scope, source availability and capacity before confirming any delivery date.

Standard

The delivery date is agreed after the question and evidence scope have been reviewed.

Priority

For time-sensitive decisions, subject to scope, evidence requirements and availability.

Critical / 24–48 hours

Considered only for selected assignments when the evidence standard remains achievable.

Priority and critical requests are scoped and quoted individually before work begins. Neither is accepted by form selection alone. The agreed period starts only after written confirmation of scope, fixed fee and deadline and receipt of required information. We may decline a request when the evidence cannot be checked responsibly in time; our evidence standards do not change.

FAQ

Is a 24–48-hour assessment always possible?

No. This is considered only for selected questions where lawful sources, scope and capacity permit responsible verification. We confirm feasibility and price in writing first.

Working boundary

Public sources. Clear limits.

Work is limited to lawful public-source research. MelonCactus does not hack systems, bypass access controls, impersonate people, use social engineering or accept stolen or unlawfully acquired information.

Some questions cannot be answered responsibly from public material. Those limits are stated directly, with the remaining information gaps and sensible next research questions.

Define the question

Which uncertainty is shaping your decision?

A concise brief is enough to begin an assessment of scope and evidence.
